September starts the beginning of school and the time for PTA organizations to start their membership drives. With rising costs Hearst PTA was looking at a way to be more “Green” by going paperless, saving printing and paper costs let alone reducing the waste going home with students.
Mobile Commerce was the solution Hearst PTA needed to achieve their “Green” goals. DSI Development built Hearst PTA a complete mobile store in a day. From the beginning they were able to sell their various membership levels, school legacy bricks and school clothing. Transactions were handled through PayPal and the PayPal gateway also allowed customers to use their credit cards as well with out Hearst needing a dedicated merchant account.
The Hearst PTA used various QR Codes that were printed on posters and placed through out the school campus. These QR Codes allow parents and supporters to be directed to specific products on the Hearst PTA mobile store and made purchasing via mobile extremely easy. Every new product or item placed on the mobile store gets a QR Code which makes new fund raising options much easier and keeps Hearst PTA “Green”.
